Transport for London
TfL is one of our longest running partnerships, having supported Railway Children for 23 years. This multi-faceted partnership brings together many fundraising elements and has raised close to £750,000 in that time.
TfL have supported raising funds through activities such as walking, cycling and having station sleepouts. Their employees have enthusiastically taken part in our UK events, as well as overseas challenges.
In more recent years, Railway Children have benefitted from donated funds from unused Oyster Cards. Members of the public can donate remaining balances from their Oyster Cards to fund our work. This can be done at most TfL ticket machines across the network. Since March 2020 this initiative alone has raised over £190,000, whilst with cards donated via collection boxes over £424,00 has been donated to Railway Children.
Alan Mundy from London Underground said of the partnership “We are pleased to continue our long-standing partnership with Railway Children and we will hopefully be able to continue to provide funds to support the vital work that the charity undertakes both in the UK and overseas”
