From bleak to bright - via batik!
"I am proud that I can now produce and manufacture products on my own," says Bahati who has learnt to make and sell soap and batik (a fabric used to produce clothing).
But it's not just income-generation that our Youth Associations bring. Through weekly meetings, members take part in sports and recreational activities and help support each other through difficult situations. Youth Associations also help young people develop confidence and build life skills around punctuality, communication and behaviour, as well as creating opportunities for young people to ensure their voices are heard, and equipping them to speak out.
"They taught us the proper ways to live and interact and made us known in various circles – even in government circles."
