CURRENT VACANCIES
Youth Outreach Worker (London) – fixed term 12 months
Salary: £32,000 +10% LW allowance
Work Pattern: Full time (working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends)
Location: In and around Waterloo Station, London
Responsible to: Regional Manager (East) – UK Programme
Responsible for: Youth outreach pilot in and around Waterloo Station (London) – with travel to other areas of the UK when required.
You’ll work as part of a dynamic team delivering the Safeguarding on Transport (ST) project, in partnership with British Transport Police (BTP) to:
- Deliver a new youth outreach pilot engaging and safeguarding young people in and around Waterloo Station, helping identify and safeguard young people under
18 years at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown. - Identify and safeguard young people alongside trained volunteers and by engaging with key partners such as Southwestern Railway (SWR) Met Police, Southbank Staff, Train Operators, Youth Service and other local stakeholders.

Training & Youth Participation Officer
Salary: £32,000 (£19,200 pro rata) – permanent role
Work Pattern: 0.6FTE – 22.5 hours per week
Location: Remote with frequent travel and overnight stays

The purpose of this role is increase awareness of safeguarding and youth-centred practice across the transport industry, ensuring the safeguarding of children and young people using public transport.
This will be achieved by:
- Delivery of face to face and online training to various stakeholders and groups within the transport community
- Delivery of consultancy activities relating to safeguarding and provision of services to vulnerable children, young people and adults.
- Engagement with partners and community members in a range of settings e.g stations, public engagement events, educational settings and as part of multi-agency safeguarding action groups
- Engagement and involvement with young people as part of our national Youth Participation programme to increase young people’s voice and youth-centred practice.
All of the above will be underpinned by Railway Children’s youth participation strategy and you will be a key figure in supporting and advocating for this work to ensure the voices of young people are heard and actioned.

Join our Public Fundraising and Engagement team to develop and implement a long-term engagement plan that strengthens relationships with major donors. You’ll manage a portfolio of key supporters, stewarding existing relationships and building a pipeline of new donors to create a sustainable income stream for the organisation. If you have experience in major donor fundraising and a passion for building meaningful partnerships, we’d love to hear from you.
