Looking After Your Mental Health

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health. Life can feel overwhelming sometimes, whether it’s school, relationships, work or just everything piling up. You’re not alone, and it’s okay to ask for help.

This page is here to offer you advice, support and tools to help you manage your mental health and navigate tough times.

1. Know the signs: it’s important to recognise when you’re struggling. Feeling sad, anxious or overwhelmed for a long time or withdrawing from things you would usually enjoy doing might mean it’s time to reach out for support.

2. Talk to someone: share how you’re feeling with someone you trust—whether it’s a friend, teacher, parent or helpline.

3. Find healthy outlets: explore what helps you feel calmer or more positive, such as drawing, journaling, listening to music or getting outside for some fresh air.

4. Take small steps: break down problems into smaller, more manageable steps and celebrate the little wins.

5. Focus on basics: sleep well, eat nourishing food, drink water and move your body.

6. Stay connected: spending time with people who lift you up makes a huge difference.
