In the UK, hundreds of vulnerable children run away from home every day.

Many will be looking to escape family conflict, abuse or neglect. Others will be experiencing poor mental health and searching for sanctuary.

Every hour, British Transport Police respond to another child found alone, vulnerable and at risk on the railway. And the longer a child is missing, the greater the risk becomes. Those looking to abuse and exploit young people often target train stations, and the areas around them, to pull them into a life of gangs or grooming.

But you can help stop it.

We all have a part to play in keeping children and young people safe on the transport network – and #ItStartsWithYou. By knowing how to spot the signs of vulnerability and report any concerns you have, we can reach more children and ensure they receive the help they need before it’s too late.
